- Install the WinImage Trial. There is no need to register. The trial version is fine.
- Extract the ClockworkMod zip file ONLY. (Do not unzip any of the other downloaded files.) It should contain one .img file.
- Open WinImage. (Windows 7 (and greater) users should use the "WinImage (administrator)" Shortcut)
- Go to WinImage menu “Disk” and
select Use Disk X: where X: is your micro SD drive. Replace X: with whatever
drive letter Windows assigned for your SD card.
- Go
to the WinImage "Disk" menu and select Restore Virtual Hard Disk
Image on physical drive…It will prompt you to select a physical drive from
the list. Select your microSD one.
- Click
OK, it will open a dialog prompting you to select the actual image. Change
selection to "All Files (*.*)". Select the .img file you just
extracted and follow the instructions to write the image on the micro SD card.
Click "Yes" at the message.
- Using Windows Explorer, copy the rest of the ZIP files you previously downloaded to the microSD Card. Four files in all.
- Power off your Nook, insert the SD, and power on. You're now in ClockworkMod Recovery. Use the Volume up/down to move up/down through the menu. Press the Power button once to go back.
- Select "Install zip from SD card"
- Then "choose zip from SD card"
- Select the file manualnooter-4-5-18.zip.
- Once complete, select "choose zip from SD card" again.
- Select the file manualnooter-4-6-16.zip.
- Once complete, press the power button once to return to the main menu.
- Highlight the restart option.
- Remove the microSD card.
- Press the "n" button to restart.
- Your Nook should restart like a normal every Nook. However, now, it's ROOTED!
To completely loose the Nook software altogether, we can reimage it with a new OS that you have already downloaded.
- Power off your Nook, insert the SD, and power on to return to ClockworkMod Recovery.
- Under "mounts/storage," choose format system, then format data, then format boot IN THIS ORDER!
- After formatting, select "Install zip from SD card," then "choose zip from SD card," and select the appropriate file:
Gingerbread: cm-7.2.0-encore.zip
Honeycomb: HC-v4-emmc.zip
Jellybean: cm-10-20121205-encore.zip - Wait for the process to complete - it MAY take a while, or it MAY be really quick.
- Once completed, choose another zip and install the Google Apps file:
Gingerbread: gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
Honeycomb: HoneyGApps.v2.zip
Jellybean: gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
- Power off your Nook.
- Remove your microSD Card.
- Turn on your Nook.
I advise you to put the MicroSD card back into the Nook and reformat it under Settings prior to installing any new additional apps.

I was able to install honeycomb, but found it wasn't as stable as CM7 (Android 2.x)
